The Hypar can be paddled, sailed and powered by an electric motor
The Hypar is designed to be a space-saving dinghy that can be unfolded. It also offers three different ways of travelling

The Hypar single-seater kayak is said to be particularly space-saving to transport thanks to its foldable design. It should take between three and five minutes to assemble and can be done without tools. The finished kayak is 3 metres long, 80 centimetres wide and 40 centimetres high. It weighs just 10 kilograms, but is designed to carry a load of 100 kilograms. When folded, it measures 80 by 23 by 102 centimetres.

This is made possible by a polypropylene structure with honeycomb reinforcements. The creases should be particularly stable and, according to the manufacturer, last for 20,000 folds.

However, the drive should be particularly versatile: The Hypar is powered by a paddle as standard. However, a surf rig with a free-standing mast is also being planned. It is then steered with two small rudders that are controlled by a pedal. There will also be an electric drive that is powered by solar cells on the top of the Hypar.

The Hypar folding kayak is not yet available, but the crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo has been completed and the target set by the developers has already been exceeded by 6,000 dollars. Production is due to start in May. The first 50 supporters of the campaign will receive their kayaks from June. Those who contribute 700 dollars to the project will receive their kayak from July. The Hypar with sail is to be produced from August.
